So the secret's out.
Oklahoma City is not just a modern urban hotspot, it's also home to AH&LA's 2008 Summer Summit, where competitive intelligence spanning all areas of the lodging industry's operations is revealed.
Explore topics of Interest
From environmental issues to communication strategies and everything in between, many of AH&LA's specialized committees are holding meetings, and you're invited to join. Comprised of top-level hoteliers, management companies, and allied members across the country, this pivotal gathering guides the strategic direction for the entire industry.
Learn from the Experts
Get the financial, demographic, and forecasting data - and learn their implications - from industry insiders such as Bjorn Hanson, Ph.D., principal, Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP, Patrick Ford, president, Lodging Econometrics, Jan Freitag, vice president-global development, Smith Travel Research, and Douglas Shifflet, president & CEO, D.K. Shifflet & Associates Ltd. Arguably a highlight of the conference, the Lodging Industry Summit discloses invaluable information in a setting that only AH&LA can provide.
Earn the Industry's Highest Honor in Hospitality Management
We've made earning your Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) certification, the premier symbol of professional achievement for lodging executives, easy. To take advantage of this special one day review and test, you must apply to the Educational Institute no later than May 12, by visiting www.ei-ahla.org or calling (888) 575-8726.
Assess Green Initiatives
As going green is one of the most important factors driving business in our industry today,
AH&LA has created a multi-tier operations certification program that identifies reputable green partners and provides a variety of options to pave the most eco-efficient pathway for the industry as a whole. Summer Summit's green panel will address leveraging this opportunity to attract guests and save money, and features representatives from Green Key, Green Seal, and the U.S. Green Building Council. It's a must-attend for gaining insight and learning new strategies for developing a comprehensive program for an environmentally-friendly and sustainable hotel.
Identify Condominium/Vacation Ownership Strategies
Gain expert insight on the pressing issues facing condo hotels and vacation ownership rental/purchase agreements, as well as perspectives on the legal issues affecting management companies involved with vacation ownership, and more. Presenters include Jan Freitag, vice president-global development, Smith Travel Research; Minh Vu, Attorney at Law, Epstein, Becker & Green; and Robert J. Webb Esq. RRP, partner, Baker & Hostetler LLP.

Connect with Industry Drivers
Sometimes the most instrumental information exchange occurs over cocktails or appetizers, so we've organized an opening event at Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar & Grill." The evening will feature great food, live music, and plenty of room to kick up your heels!
Honor Your Peers
Once a year, AH&LA hosts the Stars of the Industry Awards to give recognition to the employees and properties that truly stand out. Join in the celebration and honor the best and brightest in our industry.
