AH&LA STATEMENT ON EMPLOYEE ALCOHOL AND DRUG USEĀ 

Illegal alcohol and drug use is a concern for all employers in any industry.

In certain occupation categories, such as transportation and public safety positions, federal guidelines mandate drug testing for workers. In other industries, such as the hotel industry, it is commonplace to offer substance abuse programs and treatment options for employees and their families through company-sponsored programs. The lodging industry makes every effort to provide a safe environment for its employees and guests.

Though not empowered to set standards, AH&LA encourages the industry to review and re-evaluate their policies and procedures to stop any illegal activity among staff or guests. As the only trade association representing the hotel community, AH&LA offers resources tips, information, and products to hoteliers.
