Celebrate our momentous birthday before yours - Join for $50 or less
Time has flown by!  The Gateway turned one year old on July 1, and we're celebrating the whole month by offering a special $50/year individual join rate for new members.  Now through July 31, fill out the online registration form with promotion code "BDAY" to take advantage of this rate (usually $95/year).  The best birthday present we can get is more members looking to advance their careers.

State chapters: Illinos and Nevada
The Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association and the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association are giving local flavor to the Gateway.  Illinois launched their chapter with a networking event in Chicago on June 22, kicking off AH&LA's Summer Summit.  Nevada has service projects, professional development, and mentoring programs in the pipeline.  Any Gateway member who is a resident in either state is eligible for a free dual membership.  Click here for more details on these two chapters.

More chapters are forming as we speak - right now Arkansas, Tennessee, and New York are getting into the game.  If you're interested in more information or starting a chapter in your state, contact Netanya Stutz at nstutz@ahla.com.

We make news
It's not easy to go unnoticed when you've got the best and the brightest talent in the hospitality industry.  The trade media's been catching on and starting the buzz about the Gateway and young lodging professionals in these recent articles:

The Under 30 Council's own Stacey Higgins (who is Managing News Editor of Hotel News Now by day) blogs about our accomplishments in the past year, and how we made a splash at the Summer Summit in June, in "To the younger crowd, networking starts now."

"Keeping a new generation engaged, satisfied," in April's Hotel & Motel Management is the third installment in a series on how to work most effectively with Gen Y.

Nine members of the Under 30 Council and several active Gateway members were recently named as "The Ones to Watch: Thirty Under 30," by Meeting News magazine, highlighted as those young professionals who "aren't waiting to be discovered."
