To get a snapshot of each state's lodging industry and the broad economic contribution it makes to that state and its citizens, click on the state's name below.

Each one-page fact sheet contains updated statistics on the numbers of lodging properties (hotels, motels, lodges, and resorts) in each state, the total number of lodging employees, overall sales, and industry economic multipliers.  Each document also contains similar national statistics, including total U.S. guestrooms, economic revenue generated, and travel spending.
