Lodging Works!

With 1.8 million employees, $21.6 billion in pretax income, and total industry revenue of $155.5 billion, the lodging industry is one of the main drivers of the economy and 12 straight quarters of growth.  On a much more individual level, this industry is a great place to work, grow, and build a long-lasting and rewarding career.

Lodging professionals come from a variety of educational and skill backgrounds, with many starting their careers in other industries or as graduates of technical schools.  Many current employees start in entry-level positions and, because of training, experience, and – most importantly – individual initiative, have moved up through the ranks.  This is a career choice that offers amazing benefits:  health insurance; personal time; retirement benefits; paid vacations and sick days; discounts on accommodations and food; incentive programs and bonuses; and a world of opportunities for travel.

And this is only the beginning.

Hoteliers have a proud history, an outstanding reputation, and a great story to tell.  Below are a few resources to help you showcase the industry, find your way in to a rewarding career, and enhance your performance and increase your value with scholarships and certifications.
