On Earth Day, 2009, AH&LA challenged the industry to take on AH&LA's 11 Minimum Green Guidelines.  Over 200 properties not only accepted the challenge, they also tracked and reported their results to us.

Although the official challenge ended October 1, 2009, we invite you to see how green your property can be, and we have the tools and resources to hel make that happen.

Just use this spreadsheet to track your ROI and other accomplishments, and AH&LA members can take advantage of GreenQuest, a free online tool, courtesy of Burton Energy Group, that benchmarks your progress.

FAQs

Some of these guidelines don’t make sense for my property.  Are they all really essential?
We realize there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to greening a hotel.  Ultimately you decide if your property has achieved green status; these guidelines are here to help you minimize any green washing accusations.
