Mission Statement
The regulatory affairs department acts as an information clearinghouse to assist AH&LA members with specific issues or technical questions. Members with technical questions may be further directed to a specific resource or agency, knowledgeable allied members, AH&LA's Information Center, or other sources. The regulatory affairs department maintains regular contact with businesses and other trade associations in a continuing effort to represent the common interests of the lodging and hospitality industry.
The regulatory affairs department monitors the activities of federal regulatory agencies and several national codes and standards writing organizations. They also work in conjunction with various industry consultants towards establishing a favorable regulatory and business environment focusing on guest safety and services, building operations, security, fire protection and risk management.
