Tom Gerth is an audit partner in KPMG’s Building, Construction and Real Estate practice in the Tysons Corner, VA office. In over twenty-five years with KPMG, Tom has gained extensive experience in the audit of public and private companies. Tom has served as the engagement partner for public Hospitality REITs and private hotel managers. In addition to his primary client responsibilities, Tom has been an instructor in a variety of KPMG training programs and has participated in internal and external quality performance reviews. Tom completed a three-year rotation with KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice (DPP) in 2007. During his rotation, he assisted local offices with various technical accounting and financial reporting matters. During his rotation, Tom was a member of the real estate topic team in DPP and, in that capacity, worked with KPMG’s National Real Estate Practice on emerging issues. Tom earned a Bachelor of Administration from the University of Notre Dame. He is a certified public accountant licensed in Virginia and Maryland and is a member of the AICPA and NAREIT. Tom has served on the Board of Directors of Don Bosco Cristo Rey, a High School of the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., and Georgetown Preparatory School.
