WASHINGTON (April 29, 2021) –  The following is a statement from Chip Rogers, president and CEO of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), on President Biden’s first joint address to Congress.


WASHINGTON (April 28, 2021) – The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) and UNITE HERE, the largest hospitality workers union in North America, today joined forces to call on Congress to pass the Save Hotel Jobs Act.


he American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) and Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG) today announced that the two organizations have signed an agreement for HTNG to formally become part of AHLA to better serve and support the evolving needs of the global hospitality industry as it looks toward recovery.

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) and the American Hotel & Lodging Foundation (AHLA Foundation) today honored the women and men across the country who selflessly led their teams and supported their communities during a year unlike any other with the 2021 Stars of the Industry Awards Ceremony. Despite this monumentally challenging year for the industry, nearly 300 deserving hotel employees representing every job from front desk agents to housekeepers to general managers and servers were nominated for the industry’s highest honors. The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) today expressed support for bipartisan legislation introduced by U.S. Representatives Bill Posey (R-Fla.) and Charlie Crist (D-Fla.) that would require the General Services Administration (GSA) to set a floor for FY22 and FY23 federal per diem rates at those established for FY20.
