AHLA REACTS TO U.S. COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE NINTH CIRCUIT UPHOLDING SANTA MONICA SHORT-TERM RENTAL LAW

WASHINGTON (March 13, 2019) – The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) issued the following statement today from President and CEO Chip Rogers in response to the ruling by a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit defeating Airbnb’s appeal to Santa Monica’s law regulating short-term rentals:

AHLA ISSUES STATEMENT ON ILLEGAL AIRBNB SCHEME IN NEW YORK CITY

WASHINGTON (February 26, 2019) – The following statement is a response from the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) regarding the article in The New York Times titled, Inside the Rise and Fall of a Multimillion-Dollar Airbnb Scheme.  In the frontpage Sunday story, New York City officials uncovering an unlawful Airbnb scheme involving more than 100 misleading host accounts and 18 corporations created to run an illegal hotel business in Manhattan to avoid lodging taxes and oversight.

AHLA PRAISES BIPARTISAN AGREEMENT FUNDING GOVERNMENT
