Using Window Energy-Saving Film

WASHINGTON (September 28, 2016) - A hotel’s windows are a huge source of solar heat gain especially when the windows face the sun. We already know that the drapes in a guestroom, when not occupied, are kept closed to reduce the solar heat gain and lower energy costs. What else can a hotel do, especially in common areas, to reduce solar heat gain? There are two options: install new low-E windows or retrofit the existing windows with energy-saving film.

HOTEL INDUSTRY COMMENDS CONGRESSIONAL ACTION ON ZIKA FUNDING, HOUSE PASSAGE OF 6-MONTH OVERTIME RULE DELAY

Washington, D.C. – September 28, 2016 – The American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) today commended Congressional action to pass $1.1 billion in funding to battle the Zika virus. The hotel and travel industries have been advocating for Congress to pass emergency funding to combat the virus, most recently writing an op-ed in The Hill and sending a letter to Congressional leadership underscoring the importance of pursuing preventive measures to fight the virus.

September 27, 2016, Washington, D.C. -- The American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF) has publicly announced a capital initiative that will provide $8 million in funds for academic and professional development scholarships and critical industry research. As of September 26 the campaign, Opening Doors to Opportunity has already received more than $6 million via 84 pledges from industry executives and leading corporations.
