Hotel Staffing, Hiring and Rehiring

A survey of AHLA Members on the staffing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic showed that nearly nine in ten hotels were forced to lay off or furlough employees due to COVID-19 and the resulting drop in travel. Four months into the crisis, only 37 percent of survey respondents reported that they were able to bring back at least half of their full-time employees.
