ALIS AWARDS FINALISTS

WASHINGTON (January 7, 2016) – The Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) today announced finalists for the prestigious ALIS Awards. Among these finalists are executives and companies who are responsible for the most influential hotel industry deals in 2015.

The winners will be announced on Tuesday, January 26th, during the ALIS conference, which runs from January 25-27 at the JW Marriott and Microsoft Theater at L.A. LIVE. Nominees for the awards are evaluated based on outstanding business performance in various industry sectors.

FORMER AH&LA CHAIR NANCY JOHNSON DONATES $5,000 TO AH&LEF ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN

WASHINGTON (December 8, 2015) - Nancy Johnson, CHA, past chair of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), donated $5,000 for the fourth consecutive year to the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF) Annual Giving Campaign. Johnson, an AH&LEF board member, has been a supporter of the Foundation and its Annual Giving Campaign for more than a decade.

KIRK KINSELL DONATES $5,000 TO AH&LEF ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN

WASHINGTON (December 3, 2015) - "Kirk Kinsell, President and CEO of Loews Hotels, contributed $5,000 to the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF) 2015 Annual Giving Campaign. The Annual Giving Campaign is the Foundations yearly key fundraiser that supports its core missions, including providing scholarships to hospitality management students, funding important research in areas such as room tax, energy management, and ADA requirements, and promoting hospitality as a career of choice and workforce development initiatives.

NEW LODGING INDUSTRY STUDY REVEALS SOLID GROWTH IN JOB CREATION, ECONOMIC ACTIVITY, TRAVEL REVENUE

WASHINGTON (November 19, 2015) - “The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) today released a new Lodging Industry Trends report that underscores the industry's steady pace of job creation, community development and increased tourism and travel across the United States. The latest figures show the hotel industry added more than 30,000 new hotel jobs and more than 100,000 new travel-related jobs, marking a record fifth year of consecutive job creation. Further, salaries are up six percent.
