In her role as Vice President of Programs & Impact, Eliza plays a critical role in bolstering and expanding the AHLA Foundation's programs and broadening their impact.  Since the beginning of her time at AHLA, Eliza has worked to develop and support the  No Room For Trafficking Initiative – a national initiative that builds on the industry’s ongoing commitment and work to end human trafficking.

AHLA Welcomes Yvette Estrada, Senior Director of State and Local Affairs

Washington, D.C. [February 10, 2026] — The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) today announced the addition of Yvette Estrada to its state and local government affairs team, where she will oversee efforts in the Western region of the United States.

Estrada brings more than a decade of legislative experience to the table, leading multi-state and local advocacy engagement for NBCUniversal. Previously, she served as District Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Linda Sanchez (D-CA).

WASHINGTON, D.C., (February 2, 2026) -- Today, with the House heading back to Washington, D.C., to vote on a government funding package, U.S. Travel, Airlines for America, and the American Hotel & Lodging Association issued the following joint statement:

"We saw firsthand how government shutdowns significantly disrupt travel and hurt our economy last year. The 2025 shutdown had an economic impact of $6 billion—nearly $140 million per day—and negatively impacted more than 6 million passengers.
